Dustan was born and raised in Elkmont, Al. His parents are Kenneth and Beverly Taylor. Dustan graduated from Elkmont High School and attends Berea Baptist Church in Athens, Al. Dustan has had a passion for gospel music for as long as he can remember.

Dustan helped organize the group "LifeForce" some years ago. They were well known and won the NQC talent search and Spirit Fest Talent search.

He has performed with several groups in the past and has opened for Ivan Parker, Kevin Spencer, and the Issacs. He has made special performances with Brian Free and Assurance and The Happy Goodmans.
