I was raised up in a Missionary Baptist church in Gurley, Alabama. My grandfather was the minister there for many years. At an early age, I thought I was saved. It was not until later in my early adult life I realized I was lost. I accepted Christ and was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist church in New Hope, AL. My wife Amy and I eventually left Mt. Zion and joined Cave Spring Baptist church in Owens Cross Roads, AL.
While members at Cave Spring, our son Chase, (who is now a freshman at Auburn), and our daughter Kayley, (who is now a sophomore in high school), both were saved and baptized. We left Cave Spring and are now currently active members of First Baptist Church New Hope. I have been serving as an active deacon for several years, and my wife and both sing with the choir.
I have always been around southern gospel music. My father sang with several local groups and I loved to hear the harmony of four different parts singing.
I have no musical training other than things I learned from listening to my dad, uncle, and other family members sing.
I began singing in church with my dad, my brother, and sister at a young age. As I entered high school, I started the FFA quartet at New Hope School and we sang as a quartet for four years.
I continued to sing with family off and on for years.
I started singing bass with the Calvary Road Quartet in the mid 90¡¯s. While singing with CRQ, we were blessed to sing with several very popular southern gospel groups, and also compete at the National Quartet Convention.
I was privileged to be asked by the members of New Vision to join them recently, and I am thrilled at the harmony we have.
Continue to keep our group in your prayers.
